BILLINGS — Butte’s Junior All-Stars baseball team won the Junior State championship Sunday.
The team, which is a combination of Butte’s Northwest and Mile High Little Leagues, beat Laurel/Granite Peaks 2-1 in Sunday’s championship game.
The team beat Boulder Arrowhead of Billings 20-10 on Friday. On Saturday, they beat Laurel/Granite Peaks 16-9.
The team will now head to Bend, Oregon to compete in the Junior Little League Regionals, which are Aug. 4-11. The team will be around town raising money for their travel, food and lodging while they play in Oregon.
Members if the 2022 State Champion team are Marquis Abad, Gunner Bushman, Logan Carden, Calvin Cunningham, Tegan Duffy, Brayden Giop, Colt Hassler, Chase Lubick, Gunnar O’Brien, Jordan Scown, Trapper Stajcar, Brooks Vincent, Jaxon Williamson. The team is Managed by Mike Carden. Assistant coaches are Mike Duffy and Brandon Scown.
