State Swimming took place today and here are some of the results.

The girls 200 free relay of junior Lily Jaksha, 8th grader Nimalka DeAwlis, Senior Alex Kovnesky,  and Freshman Olivia Thurmond took 11th to swim in the consolation finals.

They dropped 5 seconds off their best time to earn this spot from this relay, Butte High will only lose one girl for next year.

The boys 400 free relay of 8th grader Gage Plum, sophomore Blair Hamry Sophomore Nate Hiebert, and Sophomore Titus Salusso, took 11th to make it to Saturdays consolation finals.

The top 12 place and swim on Saturday.  Coach Shrader is optimistic for next season as she will retain a good portion of her team, “I had some 13th place finishers, which is hard. There were some great swims for us.  I am losing no boys. All are sophomores, freshman, and an 8th grader, so they will grow together, and get faster. The next 3 years will be interesting and fun.”

“I am only losing 4 swimmers. My 4 senior girls have been wonderful to watch grow.  My team is mostly sophomores and freshman, so we have a lot of growth that I hope will happen in the next few years.”
