Corbin Walker is an alternate no longer.

The Butte High senior was promoted to the West Team roster for the 72nd Montana East-West Shrine Game, which is July 21 in Great Falls’ Memorial Stadium.

Walker, a 5-foot-10, 220-pound lineman, was one of eight players promoted from the alternate list, West Team Coordinator Jeff Hartwick said Thursday night.

Other additions to the West roster are Kalispell Flathead quarterback Taylor Morton, Helena Capital corner back Mark Northey, Stevensville safety Alex Gavlak, Frenchtown defensive lineman Jacob Caldwell, Manhattan corner back Cal Holgate, Boulder linebacker Hayden Guisti and Boulder running back Nate Burnett.

During his senior season, Walker was named first-team all-conference and second-team All-State on the Bulldog defensive line. Hartwick said he isn’t sure if Walker will play on the offensive or defensive line in the Shrine Game.

Walker, who signed to play football at Carroll College, will joining Butte High teammate Greyson Mandic and Butte Central’s Ryan Moodry and Hunter Hartwick on the West roster. BC’s Zeb Antonioli is still on the alternate list.
