Butte High tennis match moved to Friday

With an eye on the forecast, the Butte High tennis team’s matches against Helena High and Helena Capital have been moved from Saturday to Friday, Bulldog coach Mavis Bentley said today.

Action starts at 1 p.m. at the courts at Father Sheehan and Stodden Parks. The boys will play at Father Sheehan, while the girls will compete at Stodden.

The Bulldogs will be seeing their first action since last week’s Five B’s meet in Bozeman. The Bulldog boys and girls both fell 7-1 to Billings Senior and 5-3 to Billings West.

Butte High saw some real progress on the day, however.

Tanner Tregidga and David Starcevich picked up their first doubles win of the season, topping a Senior opponent. Kody Laney, Tyler Reilly and Dennis Powers picked up singles victories in against West.

The Bulldog girls saw their No. 1 doubles team, Kaitlyn Vetter and Aidan Amtmann, win a match against Senior’s top team.

Sierra McGinnis and McKaul Ori picked up a doubles win against West, as did Mollly Sprunger and Lexi Brandon. Butte High also got a singles win from Ali Dean in the match against West.

Friday’s play is Butte High’s last schedule home action of the season. The Bulldogs will head to Missoula Big Sky next Thursday.
