Butte High bashed five extra-base hits among the 13 Bulldogs hits total in an 18-8 high school junior varsity girls’ softball win over Missoula Big Sky Thursday at Stodden Park.
Eighth-grader Avery Barsness belted a pair of doubles and eighth-grader Allie Becker collected a double and two singles to lead the Butte High hit parade.
Another eighth-grader, Grace Underwood, thumped a triple, and yet another from Grade 8, Kendallyn Schad shellacked a double.
“They are getting better and more confident each game,” Butte High JV coach Kelly Ferriter said. “We are looking forward to playing in warmer weather.”
Gracie Jonart knocked in three runs with productive outs, and Becker led in RBIs with four. Barsness drove in two runs, and Ally Godbout, Mattie Stepan and Schad knocked in one apiece.
Godbout and Schad combined on the pitching win, holding Big Sky to five singles.
Sophie Radcliffe, Brittyn Klima and Hailey Skeel each tapped a single.
Aubrey Bykari batted two of Big Sky’s singles while Syerra Peterson, Briella Wilson and Myleigh Kukay each poked one.
