Butte High names football captains

Daniel Kloepfel, Jake Dennehy, Anthony Moritz and Zach Bunney will captain the 2012 Butte High football team, coach Arie Grey announced after Friday’s Purple and White Game at Naranche Stadium.

Kloepfel and Dennehy will captain the defense, while Moritz and Bunney are the offensive leaders.

Kloepfel is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound defensive lineman for the Bulldogs. He had a big night in the team’s dress rehearsal for next Friday’s season opener against Great Falls Russell, Grey said.

Dennehy is a 6-3, 195-pound middle linebacker. Grey also singled out defensive leader’s play in the scrimmage.

Moritz, a 6-2, 280-pound offensive lineman is a three-year starter. He is one of four returning starters on Butte High’s front five.

Bunney is a 5-6, 160-pound running back who is returning after missing all but a couple plays of last season while fighting leukemia.
