Butte High JV walks off with dramatic win

Butte High’s junior varsity team improved to 3-0 Friday afternoon at Stodden Park, and the Bulldogs did it in dramatic fashion.

Dacelyn Lafond scored on a throwing error after a single by Ashby Lee to give Butte High a 10-9 win over Helena Capital. Lafond singled and stole second to get into scoring position. (Boxscore)

Butte High entered the seventh inning trailing 9-8, but Hailey Skeel led off the inning with a home run to tie the game.

Sophie Radcliffe also homered in the sixth as Butte High chipped away with two runs after Capital built a 9-6 lead with four runs in the top of the inning.

Brityn Stewart, Kamber Leary, Gracie Ferriter and Madisyn Swanson joined Radcliffe with a two-hit game. Swanson drove in two runs.

Taylor Drakos and Madi Jonart added singles for Butte High. Ashby Lee pitched five innings before Leary came in to pitch two innings and get the win in relief.

Belle Glawacki went 3 for 4 with two doubles to lead the Bruins. Kate Drynan and Erin Hirschi also went 3 for 4.

The Bulldogs head to Helena today to take on Helena High.
