Butte High jayvee softball reports

Following are reports from recent Butte High junior varsity softball games:
Butte High 6, Missoula Sentinel 3 – Pitchers Kendallyn Schad and Rigby Bauer combined to strike out eight batters without walking any in the home win. Schad also went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Shortstop Allie Becker bashed a double and center fielder Avery Barsness singled twice. Second baseman Reese Johnson, catcher Gracie Jonart and Cliry Conway also smacked singles. Schad, Jonart and Barsness each drove in a run.
Hayden Slater and Payton Taylor each had two hits for Sentinel. One of Taylor’s was a double.

Butte High 14, Missoula Big Sky 1 – Reese Johnson collected three hits in four at-bats as Butte High won big in a road game that was shortened to six innings by the 10-run difference rule.
Eighth-grader pitcher Rigby Bauer struck out 13 batters and walked only two in a five-inning stint. Kendallyn Schad finished the Eagles off by striking out the side in the sixth as the Butte pitchers combined on a one-hitter. Johnson knocked in three runs while ripping a double and two singles. Schad drove in two runs and had a single. Allie Becker singled twice and Gracie Jonart jolted a double. Cliry Conway rounded out the Butte hitting with a single.
Big Sky’s only hit was a single by pitcher Kailin Merritt.

Butte High 14, Missoula Hellgate 3 – Butte High scored 11 runs in the first inning to launch the home win. Butte High loaded the bases in its first plate appearances and then feasted on Hellgate pitching wildness while getting out to the huge lead.
With the bags full, Kendallyn Schad and Gracie Jonart were hit by pitches, then a run scored on an error, Keeley Johnston drew a sacks-packed walk, as did Reese Johnson and Allie Becker. Cliry Conway came home on a sacrifice fly, then Brittyn Klima singled home two runs.
Schad threw a three-hitter to get the win in the game limited to five innings by the 10-run rule. Conway and Becker slugged doubles and Klima finished with three RBIs. Becker, Schad and Conway also were credited with RBIs. Johnson and Mattie Stepan also had singles.
Keira Babbitt and Kaija Nagle each drove in runs for Hellgate. Nat Blaney had the third hit.

Butte High 13, Belgrade 11 – Grace Underwood blasted a grand slam in the second inning and Butte High held on for the win in Belgrade.
Kendallyn Schad collected three singles while driving in two runs and shared the pitching win with Rigby Bauer. They combined for seven strikeouts and two walks. Allie Becker mashed a double. Brittyn Klima, Avery Barsness and Chyanne Robinson each drove in a run. Robinson hit two singles, and Klima and Barsness each had one.
Belgrade stacked 12 hits, including a home run by Peyton Main among her three hits. Brooke Stump, Bailee White and Arilyn Clay each had two hits.
Butte High 7, Helena Capital 4 – Allie Becker collected three hits in three at-bats to lead the home win. The shortstop clobbered a home run to go with her two singles. Kendallyn Schad also smoked a smashed a homer for Butte High.
Gracie Jonart and Chyanne Robinson drove in two runs each. Jonart and Keeley Johnston both belted doubles. Schad also singled and other base hits came from Reese Johnson, Brittyn Klima and Johnston.
Schad got the save and Rigby Bauer the win from the pitcher’s circle.
Sami Williams and Jaiden Grooms both doubled and singled for Capital.
Belgrade 12, Butte High 2 -– Bailie White knocked in four runs with a double and a single as Belgrade beat Butte High at Stodden Park.
Butte High outhit its opponent 8-5, but was guilty of six errors. Rylee Devore-Feight also doubled for Belgrade. Londyn Freese and Addy Brandenburger also singled for Belgrade.
Grace Underwood and Allie Becker clubbed doubles for Butte High. Becker also singled, and Mattie Stepan notched three singles. Reese Johnson and Brittyn Klima also singled.
