Butte High girls sub-varsity recaps

Below are recaps for the girls sub varsity program provided by Bryan Arntson and his staff.

Games were played against Missoula Big Sky, Flathead, Helena High, and Helena Capital.

Big Sky Sophs vs  27 Bulldog Sops 16

Big Sky welcomed Butte to town and walked away with a win. Butte Bulldog Gracie Jonart tossed in 6 points, Reese Johnson had 4, and Morgan Collins had 3.

Bulldog Freshmen 32 VS Big Sky Freshmen 14

The Lady Dogs played at Missoula Big Sky and pulled out a convincing win against the Eagles by a score of 32-14. Allie Becker led the Dogs with 12 point from the offensive side by knocking down shots from all over the court and Kate DeShaw played a significant role on both sides of the court all while pouring in 7 points to help out the Lady Dogs.

Guay knocked down some deep shots to help break
down that Eagle zone defense in the second half.

Brittyn Klima Was the Junkyard Dog of the game.

Butte JV 39 vs Flathead JV 35

The Butte High girls JV earned another win on season over Flathead with a 39 to 35 score. The Bulldogs improved their record to 4-3.
Gracie Ferriter led the way in scoring by netting 12 points. Jaycee Cleveland and Autumn Clary scored 6 points. Addelei Hiatt played a
great defensive game.
Autumn Clary was the Junkyard Dog.

Butte High sophs 31 VS Flathead sophs 26.

Butte sealed the victory behind Gracie Jonart who ha 10 points, while Reese Johnson recorded 8, and 6 from Allie Becker.

Butte High Freshmen 51 VS Flathead Freshmen 7.

The Lady Dogs hosted the Bravettes to Butte High School and put together one of their best defensive games of the season and claimed a big 51-7 victory. Allie Becker led the Dogs with 20 points and connected on 4 long bombs.

Reese Johnson followed up with 11 points as she sliced and diced her way to the hoop and Kate DeShaw knocked down a nice three on her way to 8 points and also played lock down defense that led her team to many steals and transition buckets.

The Junkyard Dog for the game is the entire freshman team for holding the Bravettes scoreless in the first and third quarter.

The team was in great defensive stance the entire game, talking, and being that in your face defensive player and making the game difficult for the Flathead Bravettes.

Helena Capital JV 45, Butte High JV 18

The Bulldogs JV girls lost to Helena Capital 45 to 18. Jaycee Cleveland led the Bulldogs in scoring with 11 points. Gracie Ferriter netted 5 points and Addelei Hiatt added 2 points. Cleveland was the Junkyard Dog of the game.

Helena Capital sophomores 38, Butte High sophomores 18.

Ellie Yates and Gracie Janet led the way for Butte with 6 points apiece in the loss.

Butte High freshmen 42, Helena Capital freshmen 27

The Lady Dogs hosted the Helena Capital Lady Bruins and posted a 42-27 victory as they continue to stymie the opponents with great defensive performances.

Reese Johnson led the way on the offensive side with 10 points for the Lady Dogs. Allie Becker, and Brittyn
Klima filled the bucket and they backed Johnson with 9 and 7 points, respectfully.

Schad and Kyra Sullivan played a great hi-low post game with nice interior passing, while Kate DeShaw continues to hit big shots and lead on the defensive side of the court.

The Junkyard Dog for the game is Avery Barsness with her relentless pursuit on the defensive side of the court.


Butte High JV 38, Helena High JV 35
The Butte High JV girls came back from down 27 to 9 at half to win an exciting game 38 to 35. The second half the Butte High girls held Helena High JV to 6 points.

The Bulldogs improved their record to 6-3. Gracie Ferriter netted 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. Addelei Hiattwas the junkyard bulldog of the game.

Helena High frosh 36, Butte High freshmen 23

The Lady Dogs played a tough Helena High Bengal squad in the Capital City and fell to the Lady Bengals by a score of 23-36.

Klima led the way with 12 points for the Lady Dogs while Kendallyn Schad and Kate DeShaw contributed with 4 points each.
