Butte High girls fifth in GF

GREAT FALLS — Butte High’s girls ran to a fifth-place finish Friday at the 12-team Great Falls Invitational cross country meet.

Kendall Alley led the way for the Bulldogs, placing 25th on the 3-mile course with a time of 22 minutes, 9 seconds. Alley finished just ahead of teammate Haley Hodge, who finished in 22:13.

Butte High’s Bailee Hanson finished in 22:36, while Erica McLeod ran in 22:35 and Baili Connors finished in 25:19.

Chiara Warner of Townsend won the race in 18:45.

“Our girls ran well,” Butte High coach Jim O’Neill said. “The top girls all finished in a pack.”

Butte High’s boys didn’t fare as well on the hilly course at the Anaconda Hills Golf Course.

Freshman Nic Raiser led the way for Butte High with a time of 18:48. Hunter Biegler was next at 19:43, while Forrest Kultgen broke 20 minutes in 19:45.

Also for Butte High, Kody Lane finished in 20:00, Kolby Thretheway ran in 20:29 and Kobi Craddock ended with a time of 21:49.

Troy Fraley of Kalispell Glacier won in a blistering 15:54.
