Butte High girls fall at Missoula Hellgate

MISSOULA — Missoula Hellgate outscored Butte High 13-3 in the third quarter to take control of a 45-28 win in a non-conference girls’ basketball game Tuesday night.

Hellgate led 12-7 after one quarter and 24-15 at halftime. The Bulldogs outscored the Knights 10-8 in the final frame.

Kylie McWilliams tossed in 10 points to lead the Knights, who improved to 2-1 on the season. Darby Henthorn scored eight points, while Kaila Olson netted six points in the win.

Freshman guard Ally Cleverly scored 13 points before fouling out to lead the Bulldogs. That marked the third time in three games Cleverly led Butte High in scoring.

Madi Yost scored five points for Butte High, while Sam Krzan sank a long ball and scored three points. The Bulldogs also got two points from Keeley Pochervina and Cameron Casidy and Brittney Tierney. Abby Dodge tossed in one.

Butte High (0-3) will be back at home Thursday night to take on Missoula Big Sky. That game will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Butte Civic Center.
