Butte High boys fall at Helena Capital

HELENA — Connor Dowdy scored 20 points to lead the way Tuesday night as Helena Capital beat Butte High 68-47 in a non-conference boys’ basketball game.

The game was the season opener for both teams.

The Bulldogs trailed 34-28 at halftime before the Bruins broke the game open with a 17-9 run in the third quarter.

Bradley Haller added 12 points for the Bruins, while Danny Burton and Daniel O’Malley each scored eight.

Evan Anderson tossed in 10 points to lead the Bulldogs. Brock Powell scored nine, Dylan Cook tallied eight points, and Kiley Caprara scored seven. The Bulldogs also got five points apiece from Will O’Connor and Ryson Lovshin.

Butte High will play a home game Thursday when Helena High comes to town. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Butte Civic Center.
