Butte handball players play for titles

MISSOULA — Butte handball players Brett Badovinac and Frankie Shields will play for state titles Sunday at the Montana State Singles Championships.

Badovinac will play Missoula’s Moe Johnson for the plus-40 Masters division crown. Shields will also play Johnson, but in the A division chipper.

Butte native Dan Ferriter, who lives in Missoula, will take on Bozeman’s Larry White in the championship of the plus 70 Diamond Masters division.

Also, Missoula’s Andy Tucknott will try to defend his Open division crown when he plays Chance Waccholtz of Kalispell, while Dan Scille of Luther will try to add to his long list of state titles by taking on Helena’s John Larson in the championship of the plus 60 Super Golden Masters division.

Dave Montelius of Missoula will play Mike Barrigan of Lakeside for the title in the 50 plus Golden Masters.
