Butte golfers top divisions at Beaverhead Invitational

DILLON — Five Butte golfers finished atop the leaderboard of their respective age groups Monday at the Beaverhead Invitational at the Beaverhead Golf Course.

The tournament was the sixth stop of the 2022 Southwest Montana Junior Golf tour. (Leaderboard)

Butte’s Gavin Roesti, Brenner Booth, Henley Mansanti, Teagan Yelenich and Kate DeShaw all topped their divisions on the par-72 course.

Roesti shot a 79 to win the Scotty Scheffler Division for boys 16-17. Three golfers — Richie Carson of Hamilton, Cavan Visser of Manhattan and Bradley Wolfe of Anaconda — tied for second place at 80.

Booth won the Patrick Cantlay Division for boys 14-15 with an 83. Chase Choquette of Butte took second at 88. Fellow Butte golfer Will McGree took third at 96.

In the nine-hole Jordan Spieth Division for boys 13 and under, Mansanti and Yelenich tied for the top spot with a 45. The beat Butte’s Connor Kachmarik by one shot.

DeShaw shot a 54 to win the Danielle Kang division for girls 13 and under. Evyn Smith of Melrose was second at 63, followed by Butte’s Gracie Godbout at 65.

Addison Taylor of Scottsdale, Arizona, shot an 81 to run away with the Nelly Korda Division for girls 16-17. Butte’s Taylor Sullivan and Kendyllen Lean followed at 113 and 124.

Clancy’s Maryah Lindsay once again won the Lexi Thompson Division for girls 14-15. She hit an 86. Dillon’s Tatum Nagle placed second at 94, and Clancy’s Eryn Lindsay was third at 100.

The Tour will stop next Monday at the Highland View Golf Course for the Par 3 Challenge. The season will wrap up Aug. 8 at the Old Works Championship in Anaconda.
