Butte girls third, boys fourth in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS — The Butte High girls’ golf team sits in third place after the first round of the season-opening Great Falls Invitational.

Butte High’s boys are in fourth place heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Senior Lexi Williams shot an 86 at the Larchmont Country Club Monday to lead Butte High’s girls to a 392 team score. Bozeman leads the way with 323. Billings West is second at 361. Billings Skyview sits in fourth place, nine shots behind Butte High.

Bozeman’s Kameryn Basye tops the individual leaderboard with a 74. She is five shots better than teammate Hanna Rosenova, who is second at 79. Williams is tied for sixth place with Renae Hisler of Great Falls High.

Sadie Starcevich shot a 94 for the Bulldogs, while Keliann Neary carded a 99. Katelyn Alley and Grace Luoma each shot 113.

Bulldog juniors Will Hoagland and Isiah Weldon are tied for seventh place on the boys’ side at 74. Great Falls High’s Rylan Periman leads the way with 1-under-par 71.

The Bison lead the team standings at 291. Billings West also cracked 300 with a 294. Bozeman is third at 310, followed by the Bulldogs at 314.

Houston Green shot an 81 for the Bulldogs. Marcus Lynch checked in with an 85, while freshman Kaven Noctor shot a 95.

Tuesday’s final round begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Eagle Falls Country Club.
