MISSOULA — The fourth quarter has turned into “Tricia Joyce Time.”

The Butte Central senior scored all of her team-leading 13 points in the fourth quarter Friday afternoon, and the Maroons knocked off Frenchtown 50-49 in a Southwestern A thriller at Missoula Loyola’s Sister Rita Mudd Activity Center.

The win, which is BC’s fourth in five games puts the Maroons atop the Southwestern A at 4-2. Central is 5-6 overall.

The victory, which came after a back-and-fourth final frame, avenged BC’s one-point home loss to the Broncs last month in Butte.

Sofee Thatcher and Madison Kump each scored nine points in the victory. Kump scored all of hers in the first half to help BC take a 25-24 lead into the break.

Emma Keeley scored seven points for BC, which got five from Delaney Hasquet, four from Amira Bolton and three from Taylor Harrington. Bella Sorini, Avery Kelly and Shea Davis also contributed in the win for the Maroons.

Hailey Arthur scored 16 points to lead the Broncs. Kiya Shelton tossed in 14.

The game was moved to Missoula because of a threat made to the Frenchtown school on Thursday. Central will stay on the road to play Stevensville on Saturday.
