HAMILTON — The Maroons are going to state.

Butte Central beat Hamilton 38-33 this morning in a loser-out game of the Western A Divisional girls’ basketball tournament at the Hamilton Middle School.

The win sends BC the third-place game against Libby at 3:30 p.m. on the Dale Berry Court. More importantly, the win sends BC to the Class A State tournament March 7-9 in Great Falls.

Libby beat Ronan 49-37 in the other loser-out game. (Stats)

Central’s third-place game will be broadcast live on KOPR (94.1 FM, online or on the KOPR app). So will the Butte Central boys’ championship game against Hamilton at 8:30.

Tricia Joyce scores 19 points to lead the Maroons over the Broncs for the second Saturday in a row. BC beat Hamilton in the Southwestern A District Tournament championship game last week at the Maroon Activities Center.
