Guido Ossello, Thomas McGree, Aaron Richards and Trevor Neumann have been named captains for the 2019 Butte Central football team, the school announced Thursday.
The four seniors were selected by the teammates during the July Maroon Football Camp.
“I am very excited about our four senior captains,” BC head coach Don Peoples Jr. said. “They are hardworking young men who have worked extremely hard in our season program.”
Ossello is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound outside linebacker and wide receiver. He started at both positions in 2018 and was named second-team all-conference at outside linebacker.
McGree is a 6-1, 195-pound quarterback and free safety. He has been a starter for two seasons and has been on the all-conference defensive team for two years.
Richards is a 6-4, 285-pound offensive and defensive tackle. He has been a varsity player since his freshman season and was named to the all-conference team in 2017 and 2018. He was named first-team All-State as an offensive linemen in 2018. Richards has verbally committed to playing football at Montana State.
Neumann is a 5-11, 170-pound defensive back and wide receiver. He started at both positions in 2018.
The four captains were top performers in the off-season training program, Peoples said.
“I’m very proud of our captains and the time they put in to the weight room, summer camps, and in our conditioning program,” the coach said. “Our entire senior group has been very dedicated.”
The Maroons will begin training camp on Friday. BC opens the season Aug. 30 at home against Hamilton.
