BILLINGS — The Butte High soccer teams won one and lost one against Billings Skyview Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs picked up a 3-0 victory, while the girls dropped a 3-1 decision.
Russell Park scored on an assist from Trevyn Roth 16 minutes into the game to put the Bulldog boys on top for good.
Osvaldo Flores added a pair of goals at the 32- and 39-minute marks. Park and Brandon Quinn assisted on those goals that put Butte High up 3-0 at the half.
“It stayed that way the rest of the game despite having 11 dangerous opportunities in the second half which were the result of great playmaking abilities by Trevyn Roth and Justin McNabb,” Butte High coach Riley McNabb said. “Sophomore (goal keeper) Logan Roepe again played in place of Erik Rosa and earned his first varsity shutout with the help of a great play from his backline Shaun Villa, Brandon Quinn, Nick Werkmiester, and Xavier Black.”
The Bulldogs scored early in the girls’ game, as well. Marti Ludwick found the net on an assist from Aspen Lovshin.
The Bulldogs took that 1-0 advantage into halftime. But the Falcons went on the offensive in the second half.
McNabb praised the play of Ally Cleverly, Rylee Gonzales, Lexia Dauenhauer and goal keeper Payton Carver.
“I couldn’t be more happy with the way the girls all played today,” the coach said.
The Bulldogs are back in action next Saturday when they take on Billings Senior at the Jeremy Bullock Complex.
