Butte boxers rumble in Flathead

Six Butte Ring Boxing Club members competed Saturday in Kalispell’s “Rumble in the Flathead.”

Kobe and Kameron Moreno, 11-year-old twin brothers, were victorious in the 100-pound division. Kobe won a decision over Dylan Clark from Cranbrook, B.C. Kameron beat Warren Oden from Hamilton.

Butte’s 16-year-old Kadin LeCoure, won a 170-pound decision over Kalispell’s Jake Bodioan.

Butte’s Hunter Salcido, 10, lost a close 80-pound decision to Derek Reed from Helena. Butte’s Kory Robinson, 11, also dropped a tough 80-pound decision to Skyler Eagledeer from Kalispell, while Butte’s ¬†Calvin Snow, 13, fell to Lane Brouer of Browning in a 95-pound bout.

Butte boxer Kolby LeCoure also received Montana’s 2012 “Pound -4- Pound Best Boxer” award for last year’s accomplishments. LeCoure, a 16-year-old 132-pound fighter, is currently ranked sixth in the nation.

The Ring boxing club trains Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5 p.m. at 1101 Utah. New boxers are always welcome. Call 498-3738 for more information.
