Burlage, Johnson lead Warriors past Tech women

LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewis-Clark State College players Kiara Burlage and Abbie Johnson combined for 51 points and 18 rebounds Saturday night as the Warriors turned back Montana Tech for a 76-62 Frontier Conference win. (Stats)

Burlage, a former Columbia Falls Wildkat, scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds, to lead the No. 21 Warriors. The 26 points was a career high. Johnson added 25 points and 11 boards.

The Orediggers (12-11 overall, 2-10 in conference) trailed just 33-32 at halftime, only te see the Warriors heat up in the second half.

Mesa Williams and Celestian Faletoi each scored 19 points to lead the Orediggers. Williams also pulled down 10 rebounds.

Mollie Peoples added 10 points for the Orediggers, who got six points apiece from Dani Urick and Tavia Rooney and two points from Hope Lalu. Rooney added 10 rebounds.

The Orediggers will be back at home next Thursday and Saturday, playing host to MSU-Northern and the University of Providence.
