Bulldogs welcome Spartans for heavyweight clash on Homecoming night

Butte High Bulldogs (4-1), (3-0) VS Missoula Sentinel (4-1), (3-0).

The Butte Bulldogs return home tonight for some Homecoming action under the bright and historic lights of Naranche Stadium.

In a juggernaut matchup between two of the Western AA’s best teams, as Butte welcomes the Spartans to Butte Friday night.

Butte is on a current 3 game win streak and coming off of two error free offensive games and a stout defense that starts the heartbeat for the 2023 Butte High Bulldogs each and every game.

Senior QB Bo Demarias has surpassed 1000 yards passing on the season, he’s completed 96 of 166 passes with 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, he’s also rushed for 3 scores and his total yard amount is 1,079 for the season.

While top target Rueso Battermann is averaging 72 receiving yards a game, Hudson Luedtke is close behind him at 63 yards a game they both have 3 touchdowns, Cayde Stajcar is averaging 43 yards receiving yards a contest.

Tocher Lee has also been playing great on both sides of the ball with his momentum shifting plays and great hands on the offensive side and special teams.

The Bulldog ground game has been a force to be reckoned with during this 3-game streak as senior Trey Hansen and junior Karson Pumnea lead the two headed monster that is the Bulldog rushing game.

Trey is averaging 67 rushing yards a game while Pumnea garners 40 a game with two touchdowns on the season.

Kade Scheelman looks to add to his 3-sack total, while Luke Verlanic, Nolan Casey, and Aiden Cuchine all lead the Dogs with 8 plus tackles per contest.

On the other side Missoula Sentinel is lead under center by senior QB Riley Allen. Riley has completed 90 of 140 pass attempts for 970 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions, he’s also rushed for 3 scores.

His top target Grady Walker is averaging 80 yards receiving per game game with two touchdowns.

Jace Koshatka leads the Spartans with 4 total touchdowns.

The Spartans lone loss came to The Gallatin Raptors, much like the Bulldogs lone loss came to another Bozeman team the Hawks.

Sentinel is on a 3-game win streak themselves after beating the likes of the defending state champ Helena Capital Bruins 17-14, Flathead Braves 46-7, and their most recent win against cross town rival Missoula Big Sky 35-21.

This should be a great matchup of the two top seeds in the Western AA.

It’s Homecoming so make sure to pack the house with all the purple you can find, it is sure to be a show if any of the previous games at Naranche this season are any indicator of what tonight might be like. On Butte High School!
