Bulldogs take down Rustlers in four sets

GREAT FALLS — The Butte High volleyball team picked up a road victory Tuesday night, knocking off Great Falls Russell 3-1 at the CMR Fieldhouse.

Kira Mortensen spiked 12 kills on 33 attempts as the Bulldogs left town with a 25-16, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 Eastern AA victory.

Bethanney Foley and Sidney Christie combined for 20 of Butte High’s 22 assists. Foley tallied 12 assists, while Christie had eight.

Brittney Tierney, who had a team-best 12 service points, led the backcourt defense with 14 digs. Libero Keeley Pochervina added eight digs and three aces. Mortensen also blocked three shots.

Stats for the Rustlers are not available.

The Bulldogs, 2-7 overall and 2-3 in conference, are off until they host Bozeman next Thursday.
