Butte High has a No. 1 ranked team.

The eighth edition of the Treasure State Media Poll was released today, and the 7-0 Butte High Bulldogs took over the top spot in the Class AA.

The move from No. 2 comes after Butte High beat Kalispell Flathead 38-0 Friday night in Butte. The Bulldogs took in 19 of 28 first-place votes. The poll is voted on by media members from around the state.

Billings West (6-0) held the top spot for the first seven weeks. The Golden Bears slipped after winning 14-7 at Great Falls High. The defending champions received nine first-place votes.

Missoula Sentinel remained at No. 3, while Bozeman came in at No. 4 and Helena Capital is No. 5.

Butte High will look to wrap up the Western AA title Friday when they play at Missoula Big Sky.

Hamilton is No. 1 in the Class A.  Miles City is second, followed by Dillon, Frenchtown and Laurel.
