Bulldogs sit in 13th place at Rocky Mountain Classic

MISSOULA — Butte High’s wrestling team sits in 13th place at the Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic at the Sentinel Gym.

The Bulldogs scored 57.5 points on the first day of the tournament that saw 30 teams score points. Bozeman leads the way at 125. Mead, Washington, is second at 109.5.

Eight Butte High wrestlers are still alive heading into Saturday. All eight are competing in the consolation bracket.

Wil Queer (at 103 pounds), Gabe Tierney (120) and Quinn Sullivan (152) reached the quarterfinals before heading to the consolation.

Kole McGrath (145), Carl Anderson (160), Kobe Moreno (170), Kameron Moreno (182) and Greyson Mandic (205) are also still fighting for the Bulldogs.

Butte High heavyweight Jeff Queer is still out with an injury suffered while winning last week’s Tom LeProwse Invitational in Bozeman.
