Bulldogs, Maroons updated fall schedules

One day after the Montana High School Association approved the cancellation of all non-conference Class AA action, Butte High released updated fall schedules.

The Bulldog football team is now scheduled to open its seven-game regular season on Friday, Sept. 11 at Helena High. Butte’s home opener is set for the following week against Kalispell Glacier.

Butte High’s volleyball team is now set to begin the season Thursday, Sept. 10 at home against Helena Capital. All 14 matches scheduled are Western AA contests.

The Bulldog soccer team had its scheduled switched up a little, but the boys’ and girls’ teams will still play their scheduled 14 matches. The first are Saturday, Aug. 29 at home against Kalispell Flathead.

Butte High’s cross country team will now open its varsity schedule Thursday Sept. 3 at Missoula Big Sky. The Bulldogs’ cross country schedule includes four meets highlighted by question marks because of the uncertainty of running in a pandemic. That includes the Butte Invitational on Oct. 2.

Butte High and Butte Central’s golf teams will open the season on Monday. The Bulldog varsity heads to the Great Falls Invitational. The Maroons will host the Bulldog JV, Hamilton, Stevensville, Corvallis and Dillon in the Butte Central Invitational at the Highland View Golf Course.

Butte Central’s schedules, which are online and updated regularly, still have the Maroons opening the football season Friday, Aug. 28 at Hamilton. The Maroons first home game is the next week at home against Frenchtown.

The BC volleyball team will not play in the Western A Tipoff tournament, which was originally scheduled for Ronan. The Maroon varsity team will now open Tuesday, Sept. 8 at home against Anaconda.

BC’s first cross country action is set for the Park Invite Friday, Aug. 28 in Livingston. The BC Invitational is set for Sept. 8 at the Fairmont Golf Course.
