GREAT FALLS – Butte High’s girls are in fifth place, while the Butte High boys are in sixth after the first round of the Great Falls Invitational Monday at the Meadow Lark Country Club.
Senior Mike Jankovich fired a 2-over-par 74 to lead the Bulldog boys to a 318 team score. Kalispell Glacier sits in first with a 297.
Senior Ty Murphy hit a 78 for Butte High, while Freshman Trey Hoagland carded an 82. Senior David Starcevich shot an 84.
Ryan Porch of Glacier leads with a 70, two shots better than teammate Logan Iverson and Whitefish’s Art Doorn.
On the girls’ side, junior Hailey Hoagland shot an 80 and is two shots out of the lead, which is shared by Billings Senior’s Kortney McNeil and Helena Capital’s Coral Schultz.
Billings West leads the team standings with a 337. Butte High shot 359.
Shaelyn Hafer hit 83 for Butte High, while Hailey Ogolin carded a 93.
The two-day tournament moves to the Eagle Falls course on Tuesday. Play starts at 8:30 a.m.
