DILLON — Butte High’s wrestling team got a boost from five forfeits Tuesday night, and the Bulldogs beat Dillon 58-21 in a non-conference duel.
Kameron Moreno (182 pounds), Kyle McClernan (also 182) and Kyle Harding (285) picked up pins for the Bulldogs, who outscored Dillon 28-21 in matches in which there was no forfeit.
All three Butte High pins came in less than a minute, with Moreno needing just 19 seconds.
Greyson Mandic won by major decision at 205, while Austin Endy grabbed an 8-6 win over Ash Norris at 170 pounds.
Peter Gibson (145), Cooper Hoffman (152) and Brent Tezak (160) picked up pins for the Bulldogs, who didn’t use their usual varsity lineup against the shorthanded Beavers.
At 113 pounds, Forrest Wagoner of Dillon edged Butte’s Christian Sherman, 7-6.
Butte High’s Keagan Gransbery (103), Cameron Cox (120), Tarryn Powers (126), Anthony Liva (132) and Jerek Rosenleaf (138) won by forfeit.
Some Butte High wrestlers will compete at the Butte Central Mixer on Friday. That will be the last meet before the Feb. 3 Eastern AA seeding tournament in Great Falls.
The state meet is Feb. 9-10 in Billings.
