BOZEMAN — Butte High’s cross country runners got in one last tune up before the state meet Thursday, competing in a dual with the top program in the state.
Bozeman’s Laina Hall won the girls’ race at Lindley Park with a time of 19 minutes, 14 seconds. Brooks Peters of Bozeman won the boys’ race, crossing in 17:13.
Butte High freshman Aubree Corcoran led Butte High’s girls, placing fourth in 20 minutes, 34 seconds. Classmate Hailey Tonneson finished in 21:39, while Danika Murphy finished in 22:49.
Jake Vetter paced the Butte High boys with a time of 17:38. That was good for fifth place.
Austin Gerry (17:52), Erik Casagranda (17:59), Billy Cunneen (18:44) and Zach Carlson (18:59) also broke the 19-minute more for the Bulldogs, who head to Helena for the state meet a week from Saturday.
