Bulldog, Maroon runners head to Missoula for State

Butte High and Butte Central runners will wrap up the season Saturday a the 58th Annual Montana High School Association State Cross Country Championships in Missoula.

Butte High will send 13 runners to compete in the 5-kilometer race on the University of Montana Golf Course. Five Maroons will run. (Schedule; map)

Action begins with the Class AA boys running at 11 a.m. The Class A boys go at 11:30 a.m. At noon, the Class AA girls will race. They will be followed by the Class A girls at 12:35 p.m.

Other races are the Class Boys (1:10 p.m.), Class C boys (1:40), Class B girls (2:10) and the Class C girls (2:45).

Running for Butte High will be senior Brady Maloughney, junior Ladd Hutchinson, senior Trey Whitlock, junior Ryan Tomich, senior Adam Williams, senior Cohwen Houchin and junior Riley Lubick.

Seniors Vance Stapley and Damian Young will make the trip as alternates for the Butte High boys.

Running for the Butte High girls are senior Pieper Joseph, senior McKenzie Case, junior Octavia Breeton, junior Alex Kovnesky, junior Kayleen Noctor and freshman Hailey Spear.

Butte Central will send four freshman boys to the meet. They are Jim Bradshaw, James Holmes, William McAnulty and Patrick Stimatz.

Sophomore Hallie Kellicut is the lone runner for the BC girls.
