Bulldog JV walks off for yet another victory

Butte High’s junior varsity softball team extended its season-opening winning streak to seven games Tuesday at Stodden Park.

This time, the Bulldogs did it in dramatic fashion, beating Missoula Sentinel 10-9 on a walk-off fielder’s choice. (Boxscore)

The Bulldogs pounded 15 hits, including six that went for extra bases, in the victory.

Brityn Stewart and Natalie Lynch homered to lead the way. Stewart went 3 for 4 with four RBIs from the leadoff spot. She also doubled.

Gracie Ferriter and Madisyn Swanson both poked three hits. Swanson, Madi Jonart and Kiana Wetzel joined Stewart with a two bagger. Lynch also hit a single, as did Taylor Drakos and Hailey Skeel. Kamber Leary and Ashby Lee combined to strike out 10 batters.

Rylee Crane hit a home run and a double to lead the Spartans. Haley Sellers went 3 for 4 with a double.

The Bulldogs will head to Belgrade Wednesday for a doubleheader with the Panthers.
