BELGRADE — Butte High’s varsity wrestling team wasn’t the only Bulldog squad to have a good day Saturday.
Bulldog junior varsity wrestlers put together a second-place showing at the Belgrade Invitational at the Belgrade Special Events Center.
Butte High saw 12 Bulldogs place in the top four as Butte High posted 154 team points. Belgrade won with 183, while Laurel took third at 134. (Results)
Keagan Gransbery and Kyle Harding posted individual victories to lead the way for the Bulldogs.
Gransbery beat Butte teammate Moosie Henningsen 14-7 in the championship match at 103 pounds, a weight that is apparently strong for the Bulldogs. Butte High took the top three spots in the division with Wyatt Queer taking third.
Harding took the top spot at 205 pounds. He pinned Livingston’s Warren Hanson in 1 minute, 22 seconds in the title match.
Butte High got second-place finishes from Tarryn Powers (113 pounds) and Luke Harding (138), and third-place showings from Cameron Cox (113), Anthony Liva (126), Joe Sandoval (138), Christian Vetter (152) and Dominik Scown (160).
John Crossman placed fourth at 171.
