Bulldog JV softball team stays hot in the cold

Saturday’s winter-like weather could not cool off Butte High’s junior varsity softball team.

The Bulldogs cruised to their second rout in as many days, this time a 13-2 win over Great Falls High at Stodden Park. (Boxscore)

Natalie Lynch homered, and Taylor Drakos, Brityn Stewart and Ashby Lee doubled to lead the Bulldog offensive. Lynch drove in five runs.

Madisyn Swanson poked two singles to join Drakos and Lynch with a two-hit game. She joined Drakos with two RBIs.

Sophie Radcliffe, Brooke Groesbeck, Shanti Berkopec and Dacelyn Lafond singled for Butte. Lafond, Radcliffe and Maddi Jonart drew walks.

Lee pitched three shutout the innings, striking out four. She surrendered one hit and walked one. Lee Pitched the final two innings of the win.

Dyna Timboe went 2 for 3 from the leadoff spot to pace the Bison. Teammate Mackenzie Noble singled in two runs.

The Bulldogs will head to Belgrade for a doubleheader on Monday.
