Bulldog JV girls get first win of season

GREAT FALLS — The Butte High girls’ junior varsity soccer team finally gets to take a victory ride home.

The Bulldogs beat the Great Falls Russell JV team 4-1 Monday. The win was the first of the season for the young Bulldogs.

“That’s the first JV win since I’ve been here,” third-year Butte High coach Kevin Petritz said. “They did a lot of good things.”

Mackenzie Schneider, Rylee Gonzales, Marti Ludwick and Caitlin Lee scored goals in the win. Goalkeeper Payton Carver had a big game between the pipes.

Petritz also pointed to the play of Hunter Fisk and Genna Gardner in the win.

“I’m very pleased with how the whole team played,” the coach said.
