GREGSON — Butte High’s boys’ and girls’ golf teams cruised to victory Thursday at Fairmont Hot Springs.
The Bulldogs come out on top of a “triangular” that included varsity and junior varsity teams from Butte High, Bozeman and Belgrade.
Sophomore Shealyn Hafer and junior Hailey Hoagland finished 1-2 for the Butte High girls, who shot a 368 team score. Hafer carded an 83 to top Hoagland by one shot.
Bozeman’s Charlee Remitz placed a distant third at 91. As a team Bozeman shot 391, placing second.
Butte High’s Hailey Ogolin shot a 100, while McKenzee O’Neill hit 101.
On the boys’ side, Belgrade’s Tyler Ferguson continued his impressive season by winning medalist honors with a 73.
Butte High’s Mike Jankovich placed second at 74, while Belgrade’s Zach Klonsinski was third at 75.
Bulldog David Starcevich placed fourth at 76, and teammate Ty Muprhy took fifth at 77. Also for Butte, Trey Hoagland carded an 82, and Will Kilmer shot 92.
Butte High hit 309 to win the tournament. Belgrade shot 311, while Bozeman’s JV shot 321, three shots better than Bozeman’s varsity.
Butte High sent two junior varsity teams to the tournament. Tyler Myers shot an 84, while Tucker Thatcher and Mitch Rosa shot 88. Eric Fogerty hit 91.
