BOZEMAN — The Butte High boys’ and girls’ golf teams both placed second at the I-90 Classic Thursday at Valley View Golf Club.

Bozeman’s boys and girls won the three-team, one-day tournament.

The Bozeman boys shot a 295 to take the team title. Butte High shot 331, and Belgrade carded a 360.

Bozeman golfers took the top three individual spots. J.R. Small shot a 2-over-par 72 for medalist honors. Teammates Jack Thorsen and Garret Nielson followed at 73 and 74.

Butte High’s Houston Green shot 76 to tie for fourth place to lead the Bulldogs.

Also for Butte High, Isaiah Weldon shot 82, Will Hoagland carded 85, Marcus Lynch shot an 89 and Kaven Noctor hit 90.

Bozeman’s girls took the top five spots, and the Hawks ran away with the team title at 327. Butte High hit 419, and Belgrade didn’t have enough players for a team score.

Hannah Rosanova of Bozeman shot a 77 for medalist honors. Kameryn Basye followed at 81, Laurel Ward hit 82, Annika Danenhauder shot 87 and Cora Rosanova shot 92.

Kelliann Neary’s 99 paced Butte High. Also for the Bulldogs Lexi Williams hit 105, Sadie Starcevich shot 106, Katelyn Alley carded a 109 and Grace Luoma shot 118.

Butte High is back in action at the Bozeman Invitational next Thursday and Friday. That tournament will be the final tune up before the Class AA state tournament, which is Sept. 29-30 in Billings.
