Bulldog girls win fourth straight

BILLINGS — The Butte High girls’ basketball team dialed in on the long ball to complete a Billings sweep.

Butte High connected on 12 shots from behind the 3-point arc, and the Bulldogs beat Billings West 54-44 in an Eastern AA game Saturday. Butte High beat Billings Skyview Friday night in the Magic City.

Hailey Hoagland swished three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 15 points to lead Butte High (8-2 overall, 3-1 in conference) to its fourth straight victory.

Hattie Thatcher sank four 3-pointers and scored 14 points in the win.

Natalee Faupell, Sammy McGree and Carlie Haeffner each scored six points. Mariah Richardson tossed in three, and Erika McLeod and Maria Michelotti scored two.

KC Christenson scored 12 for the Bears, who fell to 4-6 and 1-3. Samirah Dennis scored 11, and Mika Robinson tossed in nine.

The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday when they travel to Great Falls to play CMR. Butte High is back at home Saturday against Great Falls High.
