Bulldog girls fall at Senior

BILLINGS — Lulls in the first and third quarters cost the Butte High girls’ basketball team Saturday afternoon.

Billings Senior took the lead for good with a 12-3 run in the first quarter. The Broncs ended Bulldog comeback hopes with a 16-6 third quarter on the way to a 57-37 Eastern AA victory.

Kola Bad Beaer’s 16 points paced the Broncs, who improved to 9-1 in conference and 14-2 overall. Ellie Ostemiller added 14 points in the win.

Aspen Lovshin and Brittney Tierney each scored eight points to pace the Bulldogs (3-7, 6-10). Kakenna Carpenter came off the bench to score seven points for the Bulldoggs, who also got five points from Kira Mortnesen, four from Haley Herron, three from Ally Cleverly and two from Marti Ludwick.

Butte High is back in action Tuesday when the Bulldogs play host to Bozeman. That game is at the Butte Civic Center.
