Nine members of the Bulldogs Cross Country team traveled to Boise, ID to race in the Nike Cross Country Regional race at Eagle Island State Park.
Kayleen Noctor was the sole representative on the girls side. Kayleen completed the 5k race in 26:55 which was very close to her season’s best time. This was the final race of Kayleen’s high school career.
On the boys’ side, the Bulldogs competed in two races: the Boys Invitational JV race and the Boys Invitational Varsity race. The team had a fantastic day. Max Dawson lead the JV squad by racing to a lifetime best. His time of 18:56 was nearly a minute better than his previous best.
Corwin Hunter, Lincoln Zell, Blair Hamry, Ryan Hanson, and Derrick Fournier also raced to huge personal or seasonal best times.
As a team, the JV boys squad finished in 12th place in their race.
Freshman Camden Houchin and senior Kaden Hennessey competed in the varsity race and performed well. Both battled in a big race and had difficulty maneuvering around many runners. Both however ran good races and finished their season on a positive note.
Assistant coach Don Foley also competed. He raced in the Open 5k event and set the tone for the day as he raced well placing in the top 20.
The cross country team had a great time racing and enjoying themselves over the weekend. The Bulldogs are looking forward to this race next year and would love to see some of the middle school cross country runners join us for a fun and valuable team experience .
