Bulldog boys tie one, lose one

GREAT FALLS — The Butte High Bulldogs picked up a tie and a loss Saturday at the Great Falls Jamboree.

Butte High fell 2-0 to Kalispell Glacier before battling to a 1-all tie with Missoula Sentinel in the second game.

The Bulldogs, playing without injured Matt Loeffler, got a goal from Connor Powers in the tie. Blake Casagranda assisted on the goal.

Butte High coach Eric Zahler said the Bulldogs had their chances but couldn’t capitalize against Glacier.

“We really controlled possession,” Zahler said. “We had more shot opportunities. They just took advantage and we didn’t.”

Zahler said the first Great Falls Jamboree was a success.

“It was a good idea. It’s good for the (Class) AA,” the coach said. “I played every kid that I brought, and we had a lot of fun.”

Butte High is back in action Thursday when they play host to Great Falls High. 1 comment
