Bulldog boys second at Bozeman golf tournament

BOZEMAN — The Butte High boys’ golf team sits in second place midway through the Bozeman Invitational.

The Bulldogs shot a 306 at the Riverside Country Club Thursday. Butte High is a distant second behind Billings West, which lit up the course with a 287. Billings Skyview is third at 308.

West’s Joey More shot a 3-under-par 69 to take the individual lead. Fellow Golden Bear Parker Jones is tied with Skyview’s Payton Stott for second place at 72. Four golfers are tied for fourth at 73.

Butte High’s Trey Hoagland sits in eight place and in striking distance at 74. Will Hoagland is tied for 10th at 76, while Eric Fogerty sits in a 14th place tie at 77.

Also for Butte High, Isaiah Weldon shot 79, while Houston Green hit an 80.

On the girls’ side, Butte High’s Alexis Williams shot a 93 at the Valley View Golf Course and is in seventh place at the midway point.

Hayden Flohr of Billings West shot a 76 and holds a six-shot lead over second-place Emma Dyre of Billings Senior.

Bozeman leads the team standings at 369. Senior is second at 390, followed by Billings West at 398. Butte High shot 460.

Sadie Starcevich shot a 109, while Katelyn Alley hit 115 and Kelliann Neary shot a 143.

The boys and girls will play Friday’s final round at the Bridger Creek Golf Course. Play begins at 9 a.m.
