Bulldog boys second after Old Works round

ANACONDA — The Butte High boys’ golf team shot a 311 at the Old Works Thursday, and the Bulldogs sit in second place in the tournament they are hosting.

Bozeman leads the way with a 305. Missoula Sentinel is third at 316 heading into Friday’s 9 a.m. round at the Butte Country Club.

Kalispell Flathead’s Ryan Keenan and Bozeman’s Jackson Beyer each fired a 1-under-par 71 to lead the individual standings.

Missoula Sentinel’s Sean Ramsbacher is third at 73, while Isak Nord of Missoula Hellgate and Leif Danenhauer of Bozeman are tied for fourth at 75.

Butte High junior Houston Green shot a 76 and is tied for sixth place.

Four Bulldogs broke 80 on the day. Isaiah Weldon and Will Hoagland each shot 78 and are tied for 10th, while Trey Hoagland carded a 79. Eric Fogerty shot an 81.

Butte Central shot a 384 on the day. Tyge Yelenich shot an 84 to lead the Maroons. Cameron Johnson shot 93. Also, Frank Dwyer shot 102, Tyler Kump hit 105 and Sam Joyce carded a 124.

Butte High entered two junior varsity teams. Team No. 1 shot 362, with Zach Hanni and Marcus Lynch leading the way at 89. Caden Hanni shot a 90, and Levi Loggins hit 94.

Butte High’s JV No. 2 hit 431. J.J. Mohr’s 102 was the low score. Tyler Ossello shot 107, Kellen Lean shot 110 and Brett Bentley fired a 112.

On the girls’ side, Bozeman leads the way at 345. Kalispell Glacier is second at 394, followed by Missoula Sentinel at 405 and Butte High at 440.

Hannah Rosanova of Bozeman shot a 75 to top the individual standings. She is six shots better than Teigan Avery, who sits in second at 81.

Butte Central freshman Tricia Joyce is third at with an 86, while Butte High’s Alexis Williams is tied for seventh at 90.

Sadie Starcevich hit a 109 for the Bulldogs, while Katelyn Alley shot 111. Also, Kelliann Neary shot 130.
