Bulldog Boys notch first victory of the season

The Butte High Bulldogs took to the road for their first non-conference venture of the young season Thursday night.

The Bulldogs shot just 3 of 27 from deep but owned the offensive glass 18-5 playing their own brand of bully ball, outscoring the Panthers in the paint 34-10. Both teams erupted in the 2nd quarter for a combined 38 points.

Butte High led 30-29 at the half.

Butte opened a 4-point margin in the second half, but the Panthers would eventually hold a 1-point lead late in the game.

The Bulldogs grabbed some ever so important offensive boards yet again and had some key trips to the foul line and made them count this week.

It was a balanced scoring night for the Bulldogs who were led by Jonas Sherman with 12 points, Jace Stenson chipped in 10. Freshman Hudson Luedtke had another solid outing posting a near double-double with 9 points and 9 rebounds, Kale McDonald had 9 points as well.

Butte High will travel to Dillon Next Tuesday to face Dillon.
