Bulldog boys fire 296 at BCC, win tourney

The Butte High boys’ golf team made a little history Friday at the Butte Country Club.

The Bulldogs also might have sent a memo to the rest of the state that they are legitimate contenders.

Butte High’s boys fired a sizzling 296 on their home course, and the Bulldogs surged to the team title at the two-day tournament that started Thursday at the Old Works in Anaconda.

The 296 is a school record for the Bulldogs, who shot a 607. Kalispell Flathead shot a 297 on the final round to place second at 617.
