Bulldog boys fall at Hellgate

MISSOULA — Missoula Hellgate outscored Butte High 22-9 to take command Friday night, and the Knights ran to a 70-49 non-conference boys’ basketball win over the Bulldogs.

Sophomore Tres Tinkle scored 20 points as Hellgate improved to 5-0 on the season. Butte High fell to 1-4 with its fourth straight loss.

Pat Colberg added 13 points in the win that saw Hellgate leading 47-34 after three quarter. Butte High trailed just 13-10 after the first quarter but the Bulldogs found themselves in a 35-19 hole at the half.

Brian Smith and Dallas Cook each scored 13 to lead the Bulldogs. Cory Farstveet added nine points, while Peter Granger scored six, Killian O’Leary tossed in four, Zach Bunney scored three and Connor Lee netted one.

Butte High is off until Jan. 3. Then the Bulldogs play host to Great Falls High in their Eastern AA opener.
