Bucks top Miners 3-2 in Bozeman

BOZEMAN — Austin Frandsen singled in Jenner Kearns with the go-head run in the sixth inning, and that held up as the Bozeman Bucks edged the Butte Miners 3-2 in a non-conference American Legion baseball game Tuesday night.

The game went a scheduled nine innings.

The Miners took the lead in the top of the second inning when Kilian O’Leary walked and scored from first on a double by Marcus Madrazo.

Bozeman tied the game in the bottom of the third Adam Hubley, the No. 9 hitter, singled, took second on a passed ball and scored on a throwing error.

Butte jumped on top again in the fourth when Jared Haran crossed the plate on an O’Leary single. Haran singled and took third on an error.

An error helped the Bucks tie the game in fifth. Jake Murfit singled to lead off the inning. He took two bases on a throwing error and scored on a Hubley groundout.

Nine different Bozeman players had a hit. Frandsen hit two singles, while D.J. Perdaems and Bennett Hostetler doubled.

Thomas Morris went six strong innings to get the win. Connor Twest picked up the save with three hitless innings in relief.

Haren pitched into the sixth and was the hard-luck loser. Quin Summers struck out three in two and a third innings.

Madrazo had Butte’s lone extra-base hit. Zach Hart, Konnor O’Neill and Ax Henningsen added singles for the Miners.

Butte is back in action Saturday when they hit the road to take on the Glacier Twins in a non-conference twin bill.

I would like to comment on proper spelling of the athletes that are on Butte Miners. Quin Summers name is always spelled Quinn Sommers. Proper way to spell is Quin Summers. Please make note of it. These kids deserve to have names spelled correctly.

    Thank You

    Quin A Summers Sr.
