Bucks, Miners battle to tie at Sell tourney

HELENA — It was a sister kisser for the Butte Miners and Bozeman Bucks on the first day of the Keith Sell Tournament at Kindrick Legion Field as the teams battled to a 6-all tie.

Ryan Moodry, Jared Haran and Braxton Henningsen each hit a double to lead the Miners, who led 6-0 before the Bucs battled back to tie the game. Marcus Madrazo, Killian O’Leary, Dylan McDonald, Tyler Ossello and Henningsen each drove in a run in the game.

Joel Thayer tripled and drove in two runs to lead the Bucks. Morgan Hostetler doubled and drove in two runs, while Bennett Hostettler went 3 for 4.

The Miners are back in action at 9 a.m. Friday when they take on the Saskatoon D-Backs. Butte plays Calgary at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. The rest of the schedule depends on seeding.
