Bryon Baker pitch 1.2 innings in MSUB loss

BILLINGS — Central Washington swept a GNAC doubleheader with MSU-Billings Saturday at Dehler Park.

The Wildcats won the opener 3-2 before completing the sweep with a 6-4 win in the nightcap.

Butte High graduate Bryon Baker pitched an inning and two thirds in the opener. Baker, who is less than a year removed from shoulder surgery, didn’t factor into the decision.

The junior right hander walked one batter and surrendered one hit in the scoreless performance.  Baker lowered his ERA to 2.84.

On the season, the relief pitcher has logged six and a third innings. He has given up two earn runs, struck out four and walked eight. He has given up just three hits, all singles.

The Yellowjackets are back in action next Friday and Saturday when they play host to Northwest Nazarene in a four-game set.
