Ty Tittman and Connor Frye scored goals in the third period to secure the North American Hockey League Frontier Division win for Missoula.
Tyson Stovin put the home team up 2-0 with goals in the first period. The first was goal, which came just 16 seconds into the game, was assisted by Wyatt Haakenson and Charles Blanding. Joe Erickson and Philip Winter assisted the second one.
Trevor Prince cut the lead in half before scoring knotting the game at 2 just 14 seconds before the second intermission.
Missoula outshot the Cobras 82-26, and Butte goalie Karl Zodda turned away 78 shots.
The Cobras hit the road Saturday to take on the Bozeman Icedogs. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at Hayes Pavilion.
