Bruce’s Big Butte Challenge set for Saturday

Bruce’s Big Butte Challenge will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. The race starts and finishes at Montana Tech.

The event will be run on the original Big Butte Challenge course with races of 1 mile, 5-killometers and 11 kilometers. The 11K race features a stretch up the face of Big Butte.

Online registration is available, and race packet pickup will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Metals Sports Bar and Grill. Race-day registration will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Montana Tech Sub.

Cost is $20 for racers 14 and older. That cost goes to $25 after Thursday. Racers 14 and under are $10.

The race is named in honor of long-time Butte runner Bruce Robinson.
